Drywall Installation & Hanging
New Walls and Ceilings, Hung Straight and Fastened Right
Hanging sheetrock looks simple until you notice how much of a finished wall's quality is decided before the first coat of mud. Board selection, layout that minimizes butt joints, fasteners set to the right depth, openings cut clean — that’s installation, and it’s where our crews start every new wall and ceiling in the metro.
What’s Included
Every project starts with a free on-site estimate and a written scope. Here’s what drywall installation & hanging looks like when we do it:
To get started, use our online form or call (612) 816-5333.
- Board selection for the space
Standard, moisture-resistant, mold-resistant, fire-rated Type X, or sound-rated board — chosen for the room’s actual conditions, not whatever’s on the truck.
- Layout that minimizes seams
We plan sheet orientation and sizes to reduce butt joints and put unavoidable seams where light won’t catch them.
- Proper fastening
Screws set to correct depth on code-compliant spacing, so you don’t get fastener pops a year after we leave.
- Clean openings and penetrations
Outlets, fixtures, windows and access panels cut accurately — tight enough for cover plates, never gouged oversized.

Drywall Installation & Hanging — Common Questions
Do you hang drywall on new construction and remodels?
Both. We hang full new builds, additions, basement finishes, garages, and single-room remodels. No project is too small — a one-room hang gets the same layout planning as a whole house.
What size and type of sheetrock do you use?
Whatever the assembly calls for — 1/2″ and 5/8″ standard, Type X where fire rating is required, moisture-resistant board in baths and basements, and 54″ or 12-foot sheets where they reduce seams.
Can you hang ceilings too?
Yes, ceilings are a normal part of the work, including high and vaulted ceilings. We lift and fasten them properly rather than muscling sheets into misalignment.

Junior and his crew were great to work with on our office redesign. They got us our estimate same day and gave a great price. The hardworking crew got the job done faster than I expected, and it also came out perfectly. We will be using him and his team again in the future.
I hired Home Drywall and Painting to finish my three-car garage starting from bare studs, and they did an outstanding job. They handled insulation, full sheetrock installation, mudding and taping, and painting — all in-house. What normally would take multiple contractors was completed by one company, which made the process smooth and efficient.
After my first contractor jerked me around for 2 weeks with excuses, the team at Home Drywall & Painting became my Plan B. Jessica took my call, sent me a proposal and had me booked next day. Adam had his team dispatched and they finished in about 3.5 hours. They had one hiccup during install, but they resolved the issue and made it right. Everyone was respectful and polite. The end price was exactly what I was quoted. Happy to recommend.
They were very respectful of our home and our schedule, did an absolutely beautiful job — and communicated daily about what to expect. A plumbing water damage mishap to our finished lower level meant repairing the entire ceiling: skim, sand, re-texture, paint — plus removal and reinstallation of ceiling fans, a chandelier, can lights, speakers and vents. Gerid and the Home Drywall team also offered a very competitive price.
