Twin Cities Insulation Services

Warmer Winters, Cooler Summers, Lower Bills

Insulation is the least visible improvement in your house and one of the most immediately felt. Because we hang the drywall too, insulating with us means one crew opens the wall, insulates it correctly, and closes it back up — not three contractors and two months of waiting.

Step by Step

Our Insulation Process

Coverage matters less than continuity. Here’s how we get both.

To get a free estimate — and a color consultation if paint is part of the project — use our online form or call (612) 816-5333.

Blown-in insulation going into an attic
  1. Contact us

Schedule an estimate and tell us which spaces feel cold, drafty, or expensive — an unfinished attic, a bonus room over the garage, a basement rim joist, a whole remodel.

  2. Assess the space

We inspect existing insulation levels, look for air leaks, check ventilation, and identify where the thermal envelope is actually broken. A room that never gets warm usually has a specific cause, not a general one.

  3. Review the estimate

You get the material we’re recommending, the R-value target, square footage, and price in writing — with an explanation of why that material fits that space.

  4. Air seal first

Gaps, penetrations, and top plates get sealed before insulation goes in. Insulation slows heat transfer; it doesn’t stop air movement, and air leaks undo good insulation quickly.

  5. Install the insulation

Batt, blown-in cellulose or fiberglass, or closed-cell spray foam depending on the assembly. Cavities are filled completely — compressed or gapped batts lose a surprising share of their rated value.

  6. Protect ventilation and clearances

Baffles keep soffit vents clear, and required clearances around fixtures, flues, and chimneys are maintained. Attic ventilation is what keeps ice dams and moisture in check through a Minnesota winter.

  7. Close up and clean up

If drywall is part of the scope, our crews carry straight into hanging and finishing. Either way, the space is cleaned and we walk the work with you before we go.

The Honest Version

Why Hire a Twin Cities Insulation Contractor?

In this climate, insulation isn’t comfort work — it’s the difference between a house that holds heat and one that leaks money from October to April. It’s also work that gets buried behind drywall, which means you never see whether it was done properly. That’s exactly why who does it matters.

When you work with our team, here’s what you get:

  • High-quality craftsmanship, never from subcontractors.

Our own in-house employees complete every project. We invest in training our crews in trade technique, jobsite conduct and customer service, and we don’t hand your home to a rotating cast of subs.

  • Lasting results you will love.

We stand behind our work in writing. If something isn’t right after we’ve gone, we come back and correct it — no argument about whose responsibility it was.

  • Fair, transparent pricing.

Our standards are high and our pricing is straightforward. You get a written scope with the price attached, and options at different price points where they genuinely exist.

  • Local knowledge that matters here.

Minnesota’s climate is hard on buildings. Freeze-thaw cycles, humid summers and long heating seasons all change what holds up. We’ve worked in this metro since 2007 and it shapes what we recommend.

  • A reputation you can check yourself.

Good Questions

Insulation Services — Common Questions

How much insulation should a Minnesota attic have?

Current recommendations for our climate zone land around R-49 to R-60 in the attic. Plenty of metro homes built before the 1990s sit well under that. We’ll measure what you have and tell you where you actually stand.

Will more insulation stop my ice dams?

It helps, but ice dams are an air-leak and ventilation problem as much as an insulation one. We address all three together — sealing, insulating, and keeping the soffit-to-ridge airflow clear.

Can you insulate without tearing out my walls?

In many cases yes, using dense-pack blown-in through small access holes that we patch and finish afterward. Since we’re a drywall company, that patch won’t be the thing you notice.

Junior and his crew were great to work with on our office redesign. They got us our estimate same day and gave a great price. The hardworking crew got the job done faster than I expected, and it also came out perfectly. We will be using him and his team again in the future.

I hired Home Drywall and Painting to finish my three-car garage starting from bare studs, and they did an outstanding job. They handled insulation, full sheetrock installation, mudding and taping, and painting — all in-house. What normally would take multiple contractors was completed by one company, which made the process smooth and efficient.

After my first contractor jerked me around for 2 weeks with excuses, the team at Home Drywall & Painting became my Plan B. Jessica took my call, sent me a proposal and had me booked next day. Adam had his team dispatched and they finished in about 3.5 hours. They had one hiccup during install, but they resolved the issue and made it right. Everyone was respectful and polite. The end price was exactly what I was quoted. Happy to recommend.

They were very respectful of our home and our schedule, did an absolutely beautiful job — and communicated daily about what to expect. A plumbing water damage mishap to our finished lower level meant repairing the entire ceiling: skim, sand, re-texture, paint — plus removal and reinstallation of ceiling fans, a chandelier, can lights, speakers and vents. Gerid and the Home Drywall team also offered a very competitive price.
