On-site assessment and age check
We inspect the ceiling in person. Textured ceilings installed before the mid-1980s can contain asbestos, so if there’s any question about the age, testing comes before scraping — always. If a sample comes back positive, we’ll refer you to a licensed abatement contractor instead of proceeding.

Seal and contain the space

Popcorn Ceiling Removal — Common Questions
Does my popcorn ceiling contain asbestos?
It might, if it was installed before roughly 1985. We don’t guess on this one. If the age is uncertain, testing comes first, and if a sample is positive we’ll point you to a licensed abatement contractor rather than take the job.
Can I stay in the house during removal?
In most cases, yes. We contain and seal the work area room by room, so the rest of the house stays usable. We’ll tell you honestly if a particular project is an exception.
Do the ceilings have to be repainted afterward?
Yes — and that’s included. Scraped ceilings need skim coating, sanding, and priming before paint, or the finish will telegraph every imperfection underneath.
