Wall & Whole-Home Insulation
Dense-Pack Wall Insulation — Without Tearing Your Walls Apart
Most metro homes built before the 1980s have under-insulated or empty exterior walls — and most homeowners assume fixing that means demolition. It doesn’t. Dense-pack insulation fills existing wall cavities through small openings that we, as a drywall company, patch and finish so completely you’ll never find them.
What’s Included
Every project starts with a free on-site estimate and a written scope. Here’s what wall & home insulation looks like when we do it:
To get started, use our online form or call (612) 816-5333.
- Dense-pack wall insulation
Cellulose or fiberglass blown into closed wall cavities at a density that fills irregular bays, wraps wiring and blocks, and resists settling.
- Invisible access repair
The part other insulators subcontract out: every drilled opening patched, skim-coated, texture-matched and painted by our own finishers.
- Cold-room diagnosis
That one bedroom that never warms up usually has a specific cause — an empty wall bay, a bypass, an uninsulated cantilever. We find it before quoting.
- Whole-envelope coordination
Wall work sequenced with attic top-ups and rim joist foam where the assessment shows the house needs them — see our attic and spray foam pages for those systems.

Wall & Home Insulation — Common Questions
How do you insulate a wall without removing the drywall?
Small openings are drilled in each stud bay — from inside or outside depending on the house — and insulation is dense-packed through a fill tube until the cavity registers full. Then the openings are patched, textured and painted. On siding-side jobs, siding pieces are removed and reinstalled instead.
Will I be able to see where the holes were?
No — and this is where hiring a drywall company for insulation pays off. Patch visibility is a finishing problem, and finishing is our core trade. The patches get the same texture-matching standard as our repair work.
Does dense-pack actually make a difference?
In an empty 2x4 wall, dramatically — you go from roughly R-4 of bare assembly to R-13–R-15, plus a meaningful reduction in air leakage because dense-pack chokes airflow paths. Rooms on previously empty walls feel different the first cold night.

Junior and his crew were great to work with on our office redesign. They got us our estimate same day and gave a great price. The hardworking crew got the job done faster than I expected, and it also came out perfectly. We will be using him and his team again in the future.
I hired Home Drywall and Painting to finish my three-car garage starting from bare studs, and they did an outstanding job. They handled insulation, full sheetrock installation, mudding and taping, and painting — all in-house. What normally would take multiple contractors was completed by one company, which made the process smooth and efficient.
After my first contractor jerked me around for 2 weeks with excuses, the team at Home Drywall & Painting became my Plan B. Jessica took my call, sent me a proposal and had me booked next day. Adam had his team dispatched and they finished in about 3.5 hours. They had one hiccup during install, but they resolved the issue and made it right. Everyone was respectful and polite. The end price was exactly what I was quoted. Happy to recommend.
They were very respectful of our home and our schedule, did an absolutely beautiful job — and communicated daily about what to expect. A plumbing water damage mishap to our finished lower level meant repairing the entire ceiling: skim, sand, re-texture, paint — plus removal and reinstallation of ceiling fans, a chandelier, can lights, speakers and vents. Gerid and the Home Drywall team also offered a very competitive price.
