Both are assembly work — decoupled framing, mass-loaded drywall, sealed penetrations, then absorption in the right places — which is why theater rooms are drywall-contractor territory.

Can you make the theater inaudible in the rest of the house?
Dramatically quieter, yes — a decoupled, damped, sealed room turns reference-level movies into a murmur elsewhere. Total silence is a laboratory claim; we’ll set a realistic expectation for your specific structure and build to it.
Do I need special drywall for a theater?
The assembly matters more than any single product: two layers with viscoelastic damping between them on decoupling channel outperforms one ‘special’ board on studs. That said, we use sound-rated products where they earn their cost.
Can you build a theater in my basement?
The basement is the best room in the house for it — concrete on three sides, isolation from bedrooms, and ceiling heights we can work with. We handle the insulation, assemblies, drywall and finishes; your AV installer handles the electronics; the room comes together as one project.
