Drywall & Wall Texturing
Applying and Matching Knockdown, Orange Peel and More — Walls and Ceilings
Texture is the fingerprint of a wall, and Minnesota houses wear a lot of them — knockdown in the ’90s builds, orange peel nearly everywhere, stomp ceilings in the ramblers. We apply new texture and, harder still, match existing texture so repairs and additions read as original construction.
What’s Included
Every project starts with a free on-site estimate and a written scope. Here’s what drywall & wall texturing looks like when we do it:
To get started, use our online form or call (612) 816-5333.
- Full-room and whole-home application
Sprayed and hand-applied textures over new drywall, with consistent pattern density from wall to wall.
- Texture matching on repairs
Test panels matched against your existing surface before anything goes on the wall — pattern, scale and depth, not just ‘close enough.’
- Texture removal and conversion
Taking a dated texture down to smooth, or converting one texture to another, including skim coating to a Level 5 plane.
- Sealed and primed results
Texture primed and ready for paint, because raw texture drinks paint unevenly and flashes.

Drywall & Wall Texturing — Common Questions
Which textures do you apply?
Knockdown, orange peel, splatter, stomp/crow’s foot, skip trowel, and smooth Level 5. If your house has something less common, we’ll match it from a test panel first.
Can you match my existing texture on a patch?
Yes — that’s the core of the craft. We match the pattern, the scale, and the depth, then feather the edges so there’s no visible boundary between old and new.
Can you remove texture entirely?
Yes. Depending on the surface that means scraping, skim coating, sanding and priming. See our popcorn ceiling removal service for textured ceilings specifically.

Junior and his crew were great to work with on our office redesign. They got us our estimate same day and gave a great price. The hardworking crew got the job done faster than I expected, and it also came out perfectly. We will be using him and his team again in the future.
I hired Home Drywall and Painting to finish my three-car garage starting from bare studs, and they did an outstanding job. They handled insulation, full sheetrock installation, mudding and taping, and painting — all in-house. What normally would take multiple contractors was completed by one company, which made the process smooth and efficient.
After my first contractor jerked me around for 2 weeks with excuses, the team at Home Drywall & Painting became my Plan B. Jessica took my call, sent me a proposal and had me booked next day. Adam had his team dispatched and they finished in about 3.5 hours. They had one hiccup during install, but they resolved the issue and made it right. Everyone was respectful and polite. The end price was exactly what I was quoted. Happy to recommend.
They were very respectful of our home and our schedule, did an absolutely beautiful job — and communicated daily about what to expect. A plumbing water damage mishap to our finished lower level meant repairing the entire ceiling: skim, sand, re-texture, paint — plus removal and reinstallation of ceiling fans, a chandelier, can lights, speakers and vents. Gerid and the Home Drywall team also offered a very competitive price.
