1. Contact us

   Schedule an estimate. If you know the paper’s age or whether it was hung over primed drywall or bare plaster, mention it — it changes the approach substantially.

2. Test a section

   We remove a small test area to see how the paper and adhesive behave and what condition the wall is in. That test tells us whether this is a two-day job or a two-day job plus skim coating.

3. Review the estimate

   You get the scope in writing — removal, adhesive cleanup, wall repair, priming, and painting if you want it — with the price and a realistic timeline.

4. Protect the room

   Floors, trim, outlets, and furniture are covered and protected. Wallpaper removal is a wet, messy process, and containment is what keeps it confined to the walls.

5. Score, steam and strip

   The paper is scored where needed, steamed or treated with solution, and stripped in sections. Patience beats force here — aggressive scraping is what gouges drywall paper and creates repair work.

6. Remove every trace of adhesive

   Walls are washed until the residue is fully gone. Leftover paste is the reason repainted walls develop a blotchy, uneven sheen weeks later, and it’s the step most often rushed.

7. Repair, prime and paint

   Gouges and torn drywall face paper are patched, skim-coated where needed, sanded, and primed. Then the room gets painted — and looks like the wallpaper was never there.
